Chad and Kayla's Wedding

Considering this was over a month ago, I am a little behind. In May we were able to fly out to Arizona for Ryan's brother's wedding. It was a fun a totally exhausting weekend.

We flew out Thursday afternoon. Sam was once again an angel on the flight. He slept the whole way. In fact, the flight was full and so naturally people were trying to avoid us and our baby. Too bad he didn't make a sound the whole flight and the guy behind us rambled on and on about how great he was. Anyway we made it to Arizona and checked into out hotel. That night we picked up Ryan's Dad and brother and went to see Madi play softball. She is awesome! My parent's flew in that night as well.

Friday was the wedding at the Mesa temple. It was a really nice ceremony and it was fun to see them so happy. However, they got married at 4pm and it was beyond hot when it was time for pictures. Because of this Sam didn't last very long. We did get in a few family shots though. After the ceremony we went to a family dinner. There was a nice program where parents and siblings shared the things they love about Chad and Kayla. By then it had cooled down, so it was very enjoyable.

Saturday was the reception. It was beautiful. They had a lemon tree theme and the colors were coral, lemon yellow and green. It turned out great. There was lots of candy, icecream, cookies and any other junk food you can think of. Sam wore his tux and got to be in a lot of the photos. The tux was definitely a hit! It was really fun to celebrate a new family by talking to family and friends, eating delicious food, and enjoying your typical wedding activities (first dance, cake cutting, flower toss, garter toss, etc.).

Sunday morning we had breakfast with our friends the Groves at our hotel and then headed back to the airport to go home. I had such a non alcoholic hangover from the weekend. We had a great time and are so happy to welcome Kayla into the Merrell family. It's always good to have more girls! Congratulations Chad and Kayla!!
